Is your landlord violating recycling laws?

Every commercial and larger residential building in Chicago is required to offer recycling, but the city only enforces it based on complaints from residents. If your building doesn’t have recycling and you want to take action, here’s how to file your complaint:

1. Go to Chicago’s new 311 online portal and select “Service Request.”
2. Click through the categories for “Garbage and Recycling” until you find the option to select “Recycling Inspection Request.”
3. Fill out the relevant information in as much detail as possible.
4. Email us the case number so we can follow up.
